Basic Function: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the District's curriculum and extra-curricular program.

Basic Responsibilities:

1. Obeys ALL traffic laws.
2. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
3. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus and while loading and unloading.
4. Never leaves the bus when children are on the bus.
5. Reports undisciplined students to the proper principal and bus supervisor.
6. Keeps interior of assigned bus clean, swept and dusted.
7. Completes pre-trip bus inspections before starting each bus route and trip.
8. Notifies transportation director in case of mechanical failure of equipment that needs attention.
9. Reports all accidents to the transportation director and completes all necessary accident reports.
10. Enforces and adheres to all applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations, board policies and administrative rules.
11. Discharges students only at authorized stops.
12. To be neat, clean and courteous.
13. Maintain a positive rapport with students, staff, parents, and the community.
14. Cooperate with and work in a courteous manner with co-workers and other personal.
15. Demonstrates a positive attitude toward school, students, and job and also communicate the same to the community.
16. Maintain confidentiality in the school operation.
17. Obtain a proper drivers license with proper endorsements for the position.
18. Submit to a pre-employment drug test and be on the random Drug and Alcohol list if required for the position.
19. To attend all classes or schools of instruction as required by the state or local board.
20. To assume such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the transportation director or supervisor.
