Job Description

DRIVER

APPOINTMENT TYPE: Full time (30+ hours per week), School-year Appointment

COMPENSATION: Pay Grade 16: $15.77-$22.77 Per Hour

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Operates a state vehicle, driving an assigned faculty member anywhere in Iowa, under all types of weather and road conditions. Continuously applies safe driving practices and observes applicable state laws governing the operation of motor vehicles. Assists faculty member with materials, preparation, logistics, and other duties as needed to provide services to students, parents, professionals and paraprofessionals throughout Iowa.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

  • School year position.

  • General work hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

  • Schedule varies based on the faculty member’s student caseload and work needs and may include occasional weekends.

  • Service area is around Des Moines, Iowa.

  • Criminal and other relevant background checks required.

Additional Qualification Requirements

Possession of a valid driver's license is required. Within a period of time after hire, as determined by the appointing authority, employees in this class may be required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and endorsements.

Some positions in this class may require an applicant to have the ability to pass a background investigation.
