Join us at Ames CSD, where your talents are recognized, and you have the opportunity to grow in a supportive and dynamic community.The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking a Football Assistant Coach for the 2023-24 school year.Work Schedule: 2-3 hours per day (4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m) Monday-Friday with various nights and weekends during the season.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Supports Head Football Coach while instructing athletes about the fundamentals of football.

  • Attends all practices and has the ability to coach at an individual, small group and team level.

  • Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.

  • Communicates effectively with coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, and school administration.

  • Participates in special events to include banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.

  • Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.

  • Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

  • A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.

  • Concussion certification.

  • Experience coaching football at the high school level preferred.
