Required Minimum Quals:Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a Master's degree; OR a combination of education and related experience totaling 6 years.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience including direct supervisory responsibility of commercial or institutional building maintenance or service functions that schedule and manage work flow of maintenance services.Experience managing customer expectations, listening to customers, resolving issues, provide learning outcomes, and explaining services provided.Experience with computer aided work management systems.

Job Description:

The Facilities Planning and Management department at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for a Coordinator for Maintenance Services – Service Center.

The Coordinator for Maintenance Services – Service Center uses contemporary management techniques, organizational skills, and problem solving skills to properly coordinate the flow of work requests for maintenance services. This position provides leadership in all areas regarding managing the process for receiving requests for maintenance services and subsequent work flow management. This position provides oversight for Service Center and manages the service request process and the flow of work orders to various facilities work units. This position is under the general supervision of Facilities Services.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to effectively mentor staff at all levels; have exceptional analytical, decision making, and time management skills; strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; excellent communication skills; and a strong commitment to public service.

The University is in the process of implementing a new classification and compensation structure. The impending change is expected to be completed by Fall 2020. Any P&S employee hired through this posting may be assigned a new title and associated pay grade upon the employment start date (and after the initial offer), commensurate with qualifications required for the position. The duties and responsibilities of the posted position, in addition to compensation offered, will not be affected by this process.
