We are looking to hire a Customer Service Specialist to support our business in our Ames, Iowa location.

This is just a high-level overview of the role we need you fill for us

Our dedicated Customer Care Team collaborates with our internal partners to communicate to customers with confidence. We win together to execute upon and meet our customers' needs. Our Customer Care Team acts as solution champions, delivering winning results and a premiere customer experience. Employees are provided with the tools needed to manage your career. This position is responsible for the entire order fulfillment process.

  • Execute load planning through 3rd Party Logistics Platform

  • Execute Order-to-Cash transactions

  • Handle customer inquiries including, but not limited to, those presented via phone and e-mail.

  • Create new customers and ship-to locations in SAP.

  • Determine how to prioritize responsibilities; balancing short- and medium-term objectives while successfully ensuring completion of routine job duties.

  • Provide support to customers through broad knowledge of our products, policies, and procedures.

  • Work to build rapport with customers, internal functions, and external service providers to better understand what can be done to improve internal / external processes and procedures.

  • Resolve many, sometimes conflicting, issues in a professional, confident, and timely manner while performing routine tasks.

  • Create Credits/Debits/Returns as assigned by manager to support the Customer Experience.

  • Utilize Non- Conformance Management System for non-conformance tracking and to identify opportunities for corrective and preventative actions.

  • Exhibit positive image of self and corporation, even in difficult and stressful situations.

These skills and experiences will make you a good fit for this role

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Computer skills with a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software, experience with SAP or other ERP system is preferable

  • Customer Service or Supply Chain related experience is a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, business acumen, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
