Mary Greeley Medical Center Entrance Health Screener in Ames, Iowa
Position Summary
Provides health screening and customer service to Mary Greeley Medical Center patients, staff and visitors at assigned entrances to ensure that those entering the facility meet established health standards.
Position Responsibilities
Unit Specific Position Responsibilities
Greets persons entering and exiting the facility in a professional, friendly manner.
Requests required identification from individuals entering facility, as necessary.
Uses provided algorithms and screening guidelines to screen all employees, patients and visitors who enter the building. Ensures proper utilization of Protection Personal Equipment (PPE) for employees, patients and visitors.
Contacts department personnel or House Manager as needed to resolve visitor inquiries. Communicates concerns and/or issues that arise in a timely manner to the appropriate person
Documents accurate information on appropriate forms.
Takes temperature readings.
Directs individuals as determined by their screening outcomes.
Cleans assigned areas using appropriate cleaning materials and supplies according to procedure.
Communicates with door coordinator on needed supplies.
Remains at door screening position unless escorting patients or on break.
Transports patients and other items to various departments, as needed.
Reviews training materials for updates and follows current processes.
At the request of supervisor, may assist in additional projects that can be completed in between primary customer service duties.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):
Must be over 18 years old
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Ability to use telephone, PC and pager system.
Ability to understand oral and written instructions; ability to maintain simple records.
Ability to exhibit and promote a cooperative team spirit.
Experienced in and able to interact with numerous and diverse customers
Excellent communication, problem solving and customer service skills
Ability to adapt quickly to unexpected changes in circumstances
Adherence to Departmental and Hospital policies and procedures
