Quality Engineer Requisition ID: 19750 Job Location(s): Ames, IA, US Job Description Danfoss hasan immediate opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join us at our Ames, Iowa site.The Quality Engineer provides technical support to various programs intended to assure the quality of the assembly processes to our customers and to resolve all customer's quality concerns. Job Responsibilities Customer Support:Manages and processes customer production line reject claims to drive improvements in assembly processes to achieve customer satisfaction.Provides liaison with other areas such as engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and customer representatives in the resolution of quality concerns.Be a part of the team that prepares and implements quality assurance control plans associated with manufacturing requirements before, during and after PPAP. Assures that specific controls are established and properly integrated with the applicable development and production phases of the project. (e.g. new product, new assembly process, new assembly line) to achieve customer satisfactions.Line Support:This position is the first level of escalation after the operations team leader for quality-related concerns.Based on issues discovered, this position may require documenting quality issues in various quality systems (e.g. SIR, Change Management and CAR in SAP) to prevent future issues.Uses Six Sigma methodology to reduce process variations.Performs a wide variety of duties to ensure quality and reliability of parts produced in the assigned assembly lines: conduct MSA Studies, capability analysis, correlation analysis, design of experiments, process control, developing control plans, reading engineering drawings, interpreting GDandT and utilizing statistical techniques to provide insight, prove out process and or correct quality problemsProblem Solving / Facilitation:Leads 8D with cross-functional teamsWorks with product engineering, process engineers, and other staff to implement quality enhancements to products and processes.Continuous Improvement:Analyzes customer complaints, returned product, and rejects in the assembly processes to determine and implement solution to prevent recurrence.Lead/Participate Quality Audits and help improve the process.Change Management Leader:Reviews specifications and/or engineering drawings in order to establish design and quality goals.Reviews and evaluates process or engineering changes for impact on quality objectives.Participates in Pre-Manufacturing Reviews (PMRs) with procurement and suppliers to ensure project success.Other Duties and Responsibilities:Demonstrates flexibility in approach and responds positively to changes in procedures, process, technology, responsibility and assignments.Maintains cooperative and productive working relationships and communicates effectively with employees at all levels in the organizationDemonstrates commitment to a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
