Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated supervisory experience with union represented work force.Demonstrated experience leading and managing a professional and skilled trades work force.Demonstrated building maintenance experience of various building systems: examples - mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC controls.Demonstrated experience maintaining and operating building automation systems, hardware and software, system administration.Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing building HVAC controls.Demonstrated experience with fault detection and diagnostic and recommissiong processes.Demonstrated construction experience in a university environment: hands on and, project and construction coordination.Experience with automated work management system managing work flow, assigning work, work completion monitoring, work performance analysis, time entry.Demonstrated customer service focus, response to work request inquiries.

Job Description:

The Senior Manager - HVAC Operations directly leads Building Automation System Administration, Recommissioning, and HVAC control system maintenance at Iowa State University. This role provides continuous leadership to approximately 12 departmental staff, ensuring the staff is trained and equipped for daily duty.

This is an action-oriented role, responsible for organizational effectiveness – adept at performance analysis to make data-driven decisions in support of the mission to serve the campus. Daily duties may require field assessment, monitoring and prioritizing work, planning preventative and predictive maintenance, scheduling, and directing internal and external resources.

This position serves as an integral member of the Facilities Leadership team, which is comprised of a group of professional team-oriented, communicative, and driven individuals united by the mission to serve our campus community. The facilities services team is approximately 280 skilled trades and professional level staff.

Facilities Planning and Management is a service organization working to enrich, support and preserve the Iowa State University campus. We are composed of more than 450 full-time and a large number of student employees dedicated to trades, support and professional services to the University. The term facilities refers to all the buildings, grounds, walks, drives, parking lots, and utility systems belonging to ISU, which means our staff covers nearly every facet of campus. We are dedicated professionals with very diverse skills working to provide the University community with a safe, comfortable and usable campus environment.
