Summary: The preferred Laboratory Technician candidate should have experience with total combustion analysis, elemental analysis, calorimetry, Gas Chromatography (GC), NIR Spectroscopy, NMR, total oil analysis, colorimetry, High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), falling number, farinograph, mixograph, bench-top wet chemical analyses, LIMS and the Microsoft Office Suite. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a scientific field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Genetics or a related field with at least two years of related industry experience Ideal candidate will have hands-on lab experience Equivalent relevant experience will be considered
Laboratory Technician Duties and Responsibilities: Receipt, identification, and preparation of samples - ensure incoming samples are labeled correctly, appropriate analyses have been requested, prep and analyze samples according to ISO work instructions Prioritization of analyses according to customer needs matched to capacity; organization and coordination of projects in a high throughput lab environment; obtaining analytical data; ensuring data integrity; functioning in multi-discipline teams and delivering laboratory results in an efficient manner Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job Works under immediate supervision and typically reports to a supervisor
