The CNH Industrial Burlington site is the backhoe capital of the world and the birth place of the modern tractor loader backhoe (TLB). Burlington site includes the TLB global design center, product validation, manufacturing, and proving grounds. We design equipment produced in Brazil, Italy, India and North America. Burlington Iowa is situated on the banks of the mighty Mississippi river. The town is home to the minor league Burlington Bees baseball team. The local airport provides daily service to Chicago Illinois and St. Louis Missouri. There is also a local Amtrak station for those who prefer not to fly. On a day to day basis as a design engineer, you will create designs and drawings in Pro-E that support new product development of the TLB product line; work with engineering colleagues from around the globe in new product development and issue resolution; work with various departments such as manufacturing, quality, purchasing and product validation to bring new products into production, both domestically and abroad.
The qualified candidate will have experience with the following:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
5 plus years in engineering with at least 2 years of engineering experience in plastics design and the understanding of plastics used in Construction and Agricultural Equipment.
The preferred candidate will have experience with the following:
Ability to support analysis and simulation efforts.
Background in operator platforms, operator interfaces in light to heavy equipment including ergonomics and NVH.
Knowledge in plastics and skills in surfacing (A and B).
Hands on experience working on equipment and/or vehicles.
Cross functional exposure and team activities.
Demonstrated completion of major projects from conception to product release utilizing standard engineering release processes and tools.
Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills to participate in a strong cross-functional team.
Independent thinking and analytical skills in problem solving.
Proven ability to work under minimal supervision in order to commit to and meet established targets and deadlines.
Ability to use solid modeling software. Pro-E / Creo.
Ability to travel to other plants and supplier locations worldwide as required to represent the product line and meet the demands of assigned programs.
Strong work ethic showing a willingness to provide technical leadership and mentor less trained engineers.
Basic to Moderate understanding of vehicle systems and applications.
Ability to use MS office suite of software (Word, Power Point, Excel).
