Pediatric Physical Therapist

Outpatient - UnityPoint Clinic

Cedar Falls, IA

FT: Monday-Friday, Daytime hours (36/week)

The physical therapist is responsible for providing services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and assist in managing disabilities in infant, toddler, school-aged, and adolescent outpatients with injury or disease. The physical therapist is responsible for implementing and improving physical therapy services and providing appropriate documentation and billing for such services.

Patient Care

  • Evaluates and treats patients in need of physical therapy services and participates in and provides all necessary components of this responsibility including completion of proper evaluation, creation of a treatment plan, and completion of treatment sessions per established treatment plan.

  • Provides and delegates clinical rehabilitation services to improve functional outcomes, focusing on gait training, mobility, pain control, strengthening, balance, and coordination activities.

  • Produces appropriate and accurate documentation and billing in compliance with all third party payor and regulatory guidelines.

Clinical Excellence

  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work including presence at scheduled staff meetings, in-services, and educational sessions as required.

  • Maintain and Develop personal and professional skills and knowledge related to the work area assigned.

  • Shares new learning with peers to support the clinical skill and program development of peers.

  • Maintain compliance with personnel policies and procedures.

  • Behave in a manner consistent with all Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies and procedures.

Quality of Care

  • Assists and advises supervisory personnel, management, and administration in development and implementation of quality physical therapy services, programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Coordinates with other staff and caregivers to provide optimal care to patients including care coordination, patient care conferences, and scheduling.

  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

  • Masters or Doctorate Preferred

  • One year of clinical experience in Pediatrics as a Physical Therapist preferred.

  • Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the state of Iowa as defined in the Iowa Physical Therapy Regulation and Practice Act.

  • Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.

  • Multicultural sensitivity.

  • Possess basic computer skills.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively (written and orally) with people of diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds.
