Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Insurance Service Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Automotive Claims Specialist to communicate with dealers, customers, field staff, lien holders, inspectors and alternate repair facilities from our customer service center.

The primary responsibility of this role is the contractual administration of all mechanical claims for all TMIS Agreements and TMS Certified Warranties.

Reporting to the Insurance Services Manager, the person in this role will support the Insurance Service department’s objective for the contractual administration of all Toyota Motor Insurance products including: Vehicle Service Agreements, Certified Warranties, Guaranteed Auto Protection, Prepaid Maintenance and Excess Wear & Use.

What you’ll be doing

  • Verifying the actual cause and extent of mechanical failure, and determines if the mechanical failure meets coverage guidelines.

  • Acting as the primary contact for claims involving a mechanical inspection and/or technical analysis.

  • Analyzing mechanical evidence to ensure recommended repairs are justified. Negotiates claim settlements in a fiscally responsible manner based on the mechanical evidence, referencing industry standard manuals/software for part pricing/labor times, balancing customer/dealer expectations with TMIS’ contractual responsibility and ensuring dealership/customer satisfaction.

  • Promoting brand loyalty while educating customers on the features, functions and benefits of insurance products.

  • Handling customer, dealer and field staff inquiries regarding insurance product coverage.

  • Remaining current with automotive technology (manufacturer repair procedures, automotive system/component operations, recalls, TSBs, SSCs for all makes/models). May participate in ASE training and certification. Participates in internal technical training.
