A Build Technician in Cedar Rapids, IA is now accepting applications. This is a contract to hire position with our key aerospace client. In this role, you will provide exemplary technical builds. As a key member of the engineering build team, the Sr. Lab Assistant works closely with engineers to produce new designs and contribute suggested modifications for producibility. To be considered you will have a High school diploma minimum, and 1+ years of experience.
Build Technician Responsibilities:
Provides test station build support for research, design, development or manufacturing activities for various customers.
Reading engineering drawings and using lookup tools.
Multi-pin cable and connector construction.
Panel and fixture construction, integrated rack installation.
Cable continuity verification.
Document design modifications and responsible for documentation maintenance.
Assists engineers with the development of new engineering processes and/or products to ensure their manufacturability, under supervision may recommend design changes.
Perform as member of design team including participant role utilizing effective communication skills.
Solid understanding of written/verbal instruction methods used by customers.
Build Technician Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
AA/AS degree preferred
Experience reading engineering drawings and using lookup tools.
Experience with Multi-pin cable and connector construction.
Experience with panel and fixture construction, integrated rack installation.
IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-J-STD-006 for soldering electronic assemblies or industry equivalent.
