GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, the Chief Examiner is responsible for overseeing the HiSET testing program. Chief Examiner is responsible for the overall quality of the testing program at their HiSET test centers. Their major responsibility is to uphold the integrity of the HiSET Program by effectively organizing and overseeing the test administration process including working with HiSET coordinators. This position will be some mornings and some evening hours on Mondays-Fridays. This position will be 20-28 hours a week based on testing volume and student support requirements.

Place material orders for paper-based test centers.
Sign the test center Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ETS.
Attend and participate in mandated training sessions as required by the state.
Verify eligibility of the test takers prior to testing.
Create and implement a written plan for receiving secure testing materials and training all HiSET test center personnel to follow the plan; the plan must include how to receive and store secure materials if the Chief Examiner or Test Administrator is not present when materials arrive.
Inventory and place all testing materials into secure storage within one business day of when the materials are received from ETS.
Develop a written, HiSET-specific emergency plan, and train all test center personnel to follow the plan.
Select, train and monitor Proctors.
Inventory and check the condition of all secure testing materials immediately upon receipt; prepare a written inventory at the beginning and end of each testing session and on a monthly basis when the tests are not in use.
Conduct investigations into test compromises and testing irregularities; follow ETS policies and procedures for reporting these irregularities.
Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
Preferred experience in testing procedures.
Prior experience in proctoring tests.
