AREA SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNCIL / ASAC Patient Support Staff Access Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
iArea Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is seeking a full-time and part-time Patient Support Staff (PSS) to deliver services at Linn countyis new Mental Health Access Center. The Access Center PSS will be an important contributor to the program as they will provide a supportive environment to individuals who need a safe space for detoxification from alcohol or drugs. To learn more about this exciting new resource in Linn County, please visit:ihttps://www.linncounty.org/1423/Mental-Health-Access-Centeri.iIn addition, the PSS will:Provide a consistent level of supervision for patients, monitor all facility security to ensure that all patients/visitors are in appropriate areas, at appropriate times, and follow confidentiality guidelines.Document observations as required in the patientis case files and complete all other forms as directed by the Patient Support Supervisor.Facilitate educational sessions and/or skill development programming with patients as needed.Ensure that the medication storage area is secured and that patients are monitored when they take medications.Report all patient injuries and critical incidents according to ASAC policies and procedures.Conduct patient urinalyses following the agency policies and procedures.Complete all required trainings.Maintain strict confidentiality, in accordance with HIPAA and 42CFRRequirementsiPatient Support Staff must have a high school diploma/GED. Candidates with an education in a human service field, a Professional Certificate and/or experience in a residential treatment environment are strongly encouraged to apply.
