Our customers turn to us to design and build various types of steel and aluminum molds for injection, structural foam, rim, blow, gas assist and structural web processes. We also design and build aluminum injection molds for limited production runs.
Today we serve customers in the computer, business machine, medical diagnostics, material handling, sporting goods, lawn and garden, appliance, consumer electronics, heavy equipment and transportation industries.
Responsible for ensuring goods are manufactured and produced in a cost-effective way that meets quality specifications and maximizes throughput. Makes sure goods are properly moved through the production flow to distribute to customers in a timely fashion. Improves MSI’s production and distribution processes to enable the distribution to run smoothly for the multi-plant facility.
Works with management in coordinating and planning production activities to improve machine runtime, while establishing production sequence and lead time of each operation in order to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human capital requirements.
Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Plans sequence of assembly all other manufacturing operations for guidance and assistance of Production Manager.
Confers with department supervisors to determine status of production.
Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Prepares production reports.
Liaises with Sales department to determine customer requirements and to deliver status updates for customer communication.
All other duties as required.
At least 3 years as a manufacturing production planner.
Experience around machines, preferably CNC and the ability to understand machining requirements and processes.
At least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in lean, total quality, six sigma, or other similar environments.
Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems
Proficient in MS Office, to include MS Project with solid written and oral communication skills
