In the Senior Accountant role, you will support the company's goals by preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, establishing budgets and forecasting, preparing audits, and handling internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Exceptional analytical skills are required to excel in this role. This full-time position includes solid compensation, good benefits, and the possibility to grow. This Senior Accountant role is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with a company in the Professional Services field.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

• Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

• Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

• Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

• Partake in various department-wide initiatives

• When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests Requirements - Able to manage time well

• Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

• Be detailed, flexible, and organized

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

• Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

• Solid understanding of Analyze Financial Statements

• Month end closings experience

• Monthly Financial Reporting experience

• Expertise in financial statement preparation

• Current and relevant ERP system experience

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• 5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well

• Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Experience in SOX control execution/documentation
