Job Summary

Responsible for all phases of Life Cycle Support/Sustainment planning for products. Acts as single point of contact for logistics on a development project. Responsible for leadership and project management of the Logistics IPT and the quality, accuracy and timeliness of all support resource planning and integrated logistics products and services developed within the guidelines set by the LCVSM/Program Manager and Customer. Life Cycle phases include business pursuit and capture, product development, transition to production, customer delivery and post delivery interim contractor support, transition out of production, transition to contractor or organic depot, sustainment support, and end of life product disposal.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the logistics on a program which is of relatively low risk and complexity or is a portion of a larger ILS program. Logistics Products and services typically less than $1M (total program).

  • Has an introductory understanding of systems engineering process, manufacturing process, decision point process. Has a solid understanding of support plans, and engineering and ILS processes.

  • Supports pursuit and order capture strategies, assist develop of decision point support plans, customers most important requirements, and customer contact plans. Will be involved in Logistics IPT pursuit planning.

  • Follows existing procedures and process to develop solutions to a variety of common problems. Must refer to established precedents and policies. Exerts minimal influence on the overall objectives and long- range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally be detected and addressed by Pr ILS Managers before having a negative effect upon program success.

  • Basic understanding of the Integrated Logistics Support Industry and the custom.

  • Work is closely supervised by higher level ILS Managers. Provides program status and reviews to Pr ILS Programs Managers.

  • Responsible for sustainment of existing products, services and business. This includes managing obsolescence and Diminished Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortage surveillance and avoidance efforts, and providing superior customer support throughout the product life cycle.

  • Directs and monitors ILS program performance to budget and schedule. Serves as primary contact for LCVSMs/TPMs and customer Logistics Element Managers (LEM) for ILS IPT program information.

  • Coordinates the involvement of all required resources and logistics functions such as Tech Data, Training, Supportability Engineering as well as Configuration Management, RM&A engineering, system/design engineering and other engineering support functions are available as required to augment the logistics IPT process. Raises key resource availability issues to Pr ILSM for resolution.

  • Assists in Planning, Directs and monitors ILS program performance to budget and schedule. Serves as primary contact for LCVSMs/TPMs and customer Logistics Element Managers (LEM) for ILS IPT program information.

  • Must have fundamental understanding of ILS Elements.

  • Prepare, Track, Update earned value metrics for ILS accounts. Able to recognize potential real problems before they impact overall project performance. Report overall program performance to plan.

  • Customer Service Orientation - Knowledgeable regarding the process of successful interacting with customers to provide positive experience and issue resolution.

  • Must have introductory knowledge of integrated project management, technical consistent process, earned value, and risk management.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience

Must have ability to obtain an active US DoD Security Clearance

Must be a US Citizen
