Accountemps is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing Healthcare organization in the long-term temporary role of Staff Accountant. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Major responsibilities

• Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

• Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

• Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

• Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management

• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

Requirements

• Vow to meet business deadlines

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

• 5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

• Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience highly preferred

• Practical knowledge of Reconcile Balance Sheet Account

• Command of Ad Hoc Reporting

• Experience with fund accounting

• Comprehension of grant accounting

• Prior experience with budgeting

• Audit Reports experience

• Previous experience working with cash flow statements

• Background working with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

• Bank reconciliations experience highly valued

• Strong familiarity with Annual Reports

• Practical knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

• Deep understanding of Journal Entry

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• High attention to detail

• Proficient in ERP systems
