A shift M-W & Sat & Sun or W-Sun
B shift W-Sun 6:30am -5pm
Night shift – 8pm-6am – 4 days in a row, 3 days off ($1.00 Shift Differential)
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the Quality Control Chemist will be responsible for daily laboratory testing of raw materials, in process and finished goods.
Job Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Perform a wide variety of chemical analysis for release of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods
Recommend, develop, and maintain lab programs including stability, calibration, preventative maintenance, reduced testing, check sample, IQ/OQ, etc., to comply with cGMP regulations and audits
Perform in-depth lab investigations of non-complying test results
Write controlled documents such as stability reports, test procedures, SOPs, SAPs, etc.
Evaluate performance of instrumentation and validity of test results
Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshoot equipment as needed
Perform and document method transfer from Analytical Development
Perform method development including instrument parameters, new instruments, method improvement studies
Handle, analyze, and dispose of hazardous samples and waste
Perform statistical evaluation of date including SPC, expiration dating of stability data, system suitability, instrument and method linearity
Together with Supervisor, assist with planning, coordinating, and monitoring work activities of laboratory
Adhere to all EPA, FDA, cGMP, cGLP, DEA regulations and internals SOPs as they relate to the operation of the Quality Control lab and general operation of the chemical production facility
Follow all OSHA and company safety rules and practices
Review and enter data for Inventory Control
Provide on-call coverage for non-scheduled work hours
Maintain laboratory solutions, inventory, and notebooks
Interact and schedule with outside vendors and other departments
Maintain responsibility for assisting in the training of new employees, both inside and outside the QC department as needed to perform departmental duties
Job Qualifications
BS in Chemistry or closely related field desired. Experience in a laboratory testing environment preferred
Knowledge of analytical instrumentation
Strong chemistry theory
Proven ability to handle various project load is beneficial
