Job Description:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for daily plant accounting functions. Work activities are variable and require judgment to complete tasks, setting priorities, evaluating results, and the ability to work independently and with a diversified group. This includes verifying and checking documents for reasonableness and also requires interaction with supervisors and other plant management. This list is not all inclusive and there may be other duties as assigned. Applicant will be expected to cross-train in all areas of the office to provide vacation and sick coverage. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.


Education: High School diploma, GED or Equivalent. Higher education in the Accounting field is preferred. Knowledge of basic mathematics, grammar, office equipment and business practices required.

Experience: 3+ years of general office experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office and Excel experience required. SAP and Tyson1 experience a plus.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.

Special Skills: Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in teams.

Position-Specific Requirements:

This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility, therefore, they will be considered for the opening first. If none of those local Team Members are selected then Team Members from other Tyson locations will be given consideration as well as external candidates.

Internal Candidates must have no more than a minimum attendance level of less than 6 points, and must not have received a written warning within the last 6 months.

The Candidate selected for this position must be able to work extended hours as required per management.
