SUMMARY:

Work activities are variable and require judgment to complete tasks such as setting priorities, evaluating results, and coordinating with others. Assignments are defined and the approach to be taken is usually determined in coordination with others. This position performs various functions in the Department to include: enter product manifest into computer system; retrieve shipping order manifest; Handling of export documents and inventory; Keep logs on sales summaries; clerk is also responsible for tracking Team member attendance; billing, purchasing and contacting past due accounts, as well as scheduling appointments for leads; Any other additional duties deemed appropriate by supervisor; May have to work some Saturdays; Must be able to work independently with little supervision.

REQUIREMENTS: Resume must be submitted along with the on-line application to be considered for this position.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 3+ years' clerical experience.

Communication Skills: Must have strong people skills; must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials.

Computer Skills: Requires basic computer skills including using a Tyson Business Computer System, an understanding of the system features and how to use these features. Microsoft Office & Excel experience preferred.

Special Skills: Candidate must be well rounded in all aspects of clerical/secretarial background including ten-key operation, proper phone etiquette, typing, filing, maintaining accurate records, and accurate data entry. Candidate must be willing to cross train to fulfill any other duties in the office as assigned by the Manager. Candidate must have the ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Other: Candidate must be able to be exposed to a cold environment when job duties require going into the Warehouse area; lifting up 40 lbs.; able to sit for long periods of time for computer data entry.

The Candidate selected for this position must be able to work extended hours as required per management. This position does not allow for relocation assistance.

Candidates who are currently working at this facility will be considered for the opening first. If none of those local Team Members are selected then Team Members from other Tyson locations will be given consideration as well as external candidates.
