Description

Robert Half Finance is looking for an outstanding Financial Analyst to join a fast-growing company. In addition to measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, you will conduct financial modeling on a variety of financial products in this Financial Analyst role. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing reports for management and advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives. You will be a part of a dynamic team being a key business partner in areas such as forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. In this Financial Analyst position, you will be responsible for supporting world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. Additional aspects of this position include operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. Located in the Council Bluffs, Iowa, this Financial Analyst role is a full-time employment opportunity.

Major responsibilities

  • Track monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources

  • Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support

  • Flexible individuals comfortable with large amounts of information, and adept at managing expectations

  • Support Area/Segment-level Bookings on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis, as well as P&L forecasting

  • Look over performance to date while assessing potential opportunities and risks

  • Develop monthly reports to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required

  • Collaborate with senior executives on strategic deep dives on creating financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, event tracking and execution, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, and strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

  • Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

  • Possess the know-how and be able to explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

  • Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

  • Assemble and review forecasting reports

Requirements

  • Expertise in financial reporting

  • Proficiency in budget forecasting

  • Foundational knowledge in financial planning

  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis

  • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

  • Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience considered)

  • Qualified in Spreadsheet and ERP system

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • 2+ years of experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
