EEO/AA employerPOSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for generating, approving and maintaining quality business and agriculture loans for the banks portfolio. The Senior Loan Officer will provide advice and guidance to others in designated market lending activities to ensure loans are properly processed and adequate controls are maintained. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESCoordinate lending activities through guidance and direction of loan department.Work with Management to develop and define procedures and policies for loan administration.Identify and contact current and prospective customers about new and existing products and servicesHandle all loan applications within an acceptable customer service and regulatory timeframeMaintain loan quality by striving for low incidence of incomplete documentation or regulatory violationWork with loan clerical staff in acquiring required documentation for the loan filesMonitor loans for continuing qualityAnalyze complex credit applicationsWork with customers through difficult/complicated issues that may ariseHandle collections on delinquent loans; monitor the quality of existing loansApprove or deny loan applicationsWill remain current with lending laws and regulations, along with products and services offered by competitors and other vendorsMake recommendations for new loan products and servicesAdhere to bank policy, procedures and all lending laws and regulationsMaintain a high level of customer confidenceROLE QUALIFICATIONSEducationBachelors degree or equivalent combination education and experience requiredExperience3+ years in the banking or lending environment; 2+ years of supervisory and leadership experience and relevant loan experience; or the equivalent combination of both Other Skills and AbilitiesStrong math skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measureExceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly to customers and employeesExceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to function well in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of loan policies and proceduresAssumes a leadership role in community projects and activitiesAccepts a leadership role within the bank and participates in bank promotions and activitiesTravel to/from and work in multiple locations; must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportationSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for supervising staff in accordance with the banks policies and applicable laws.
