Genesis Health System ACO/Population Health Analyst in Davenport, Iowa

Position Title: Analyst, ACO/Population Health

Department: Genesis ACO

Purpose: Provides data management coordination, guidance and analytical support for population health business development, clinical, financial management, quality/performance excellence and strategic planning initiatives, and operational systems. Serves as a customer liaison and works in coordination with the data analysis developers, chief biostatistician and ACO leadership to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all population health solutions and deliverables.

Develops and maintains oversight of population health specific databases and/or processes to collect and analyze data to support ACO business planning, monitoring reports and performance improvement information needs. Utilizes business knowledge to assist with the design and documentation of logical data models and processes, based on well-defined business requirements and data/information requirements.

Prepares general ACO reporting and information needed to support decision making and planning. Responsible to work in collaboration with peers, customers, information technology and vendors, providing assistance with the analysis design, validation, implementation, documentation and maintenance of all population health data.

Report To: Executive Director, Population Health

Supervisory Responsibility: Guidance: The job requires the provision of occasional guidance and training to others. The job does not have formal or official supervisory responsibilities.

Materials Responsibility: Very Limited. Work requires very limited responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include personal work materials, supplies or equipment, or very small amounts of cash. The employee has a very limited or indirect amount of control over these resources. Although human error might require the repair or replacement of materials, usually the cost of correcting these errors is minor. The variety and volume of resources is also very limited. Problems associated with material resources are very uncomplicated.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field Of Study: Accounting/Finance, Business or Healthcare Administration, Business Intelligence, Health Informatics, Mathematics/Statistical Process Control, Information Technology/Computer Science or related field.

Special Training: Financial, quality and/or statistical analytics, project management & process improvement methodology. Experience with data loads, data manipulation & analysis, databases, spreadsheets, report writing applications, decision support & statistical software.

Training Preferred: Demonstrated advanced analytics and problem solving skills. Highly proficient in data/decision support tools and utilities including data mining, statistical analysis, data exchange/validation and comparative analysis.


Experience: More than 3 years experience required.

Interpersonal Skills: Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are often difficult or stressful in nature. Contact with others involves complex, detailed and often sensitive topics. The job requires a high degree of interpersonal skills to deal with a range of complicated problem situations. Interactions involve gaining the agreement of others.
