Against that backdrop, we are seeking we are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking leader for the newly-created position of Associate Vice President, Strategy Advancement. This role will reside in Humana's Home Solutions segment - a rapidly-growing business segment that is a critical component of our integrated healthcare operating model. The overarching purpose of this role is to support and advance the Home Solutions strategy by expanding and refining the segment's product and service offerings. This role's scope extends all the way from proactively identifying unmet needs and conceptualizing solutions to piloting and operationalizing them.

The AVP will operate as an individual contributor initially, but will look to build out a team of 2-3 direct reports in the first year. This leader will also have the responsibility of positively influencing key partners and stakeholders, who can include market-level P&L owners, internal and external clinical leaders, leaders of other segments and functions, etc., in order to drive towards key Home Solutions goals . This role is primarily oriented towards strategic outlook 18-24+ months out: setting mid-term direction and bringing it to life. This role will also have key inputs into long term strategy. .

This position is open for Work at Home nationwide in the lower 48 states or in any Humana office.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Defining and prioritizing the Home Ecosystem build out and investment opportunities within the Home Solutions product line. This leader will be building out existing solutions with more breadth and depth as well as expanding the portfolio and helping define where we go strategically.

  • Identifying new home solution opportunities and vetting, developing, and implementing the approach, then passing to a business owner to manage future states.

  • Determining buying versus building out new directions, taking into consideration the opportunities and resources we have from an enterprise perspective. Validate new market opportunities, assess client needs and build ROI driven business plans.

  • Ownership of how all pieces of the Home ecosystem are integrated to reduce unnecessary touchpoints to the member, duplication of work and resources, and ease of execution and deployment of multiple resources to members, while ensuring all silos are reduced to make transactions easy for members.

  • Establishing a shared vision for the Home Solutions product line to enhance care, outcomes and experience for Humana members in their home.

  • Collaborating with other senior Home Solutions leaders, as well as Enterprise leaders more broadly, to develop and implement a plan for an end-to-end member journey experience of care in the home.

  • Driving the identification, assessment and development of key products and partnerships to deliver, enhance or better integrate a broad suite of innovative, high-value, high-experience care solutions in the home.

  • Partnering closely with business owners and a range of enterprise teams, including the Clinical Product Organization, to drive the development of products that deliver on both clinical and financial outcomes

Key Candidate Qualifications

The successful candidate will have extensive (typically 10+ years) of experience in healthcare product or program development and/or management, along with several years (typically 5+ years) of work specifically in home-based solutions. This person will have a solid understanding of competitors' strategies, including emerging competitors, and will have proven success in leading large cross-functional teams focused on large-scale transformation initiatives. Bachelor's degree is required (ideally in a relevant business discipline).

In addition to the above, the following technical qualifications and personal attributes are also sought:

  • Proven success in creating a roadmap, vision, and strategy for an entire product portfolio

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize diverse sets of projects

  • Proven experience in designing and operationalizing high-end consumer experiences, moving rapidly from concept to implementation

  • A thought leader who anticipates changes and disruption to see opportunities for the future and drives a future-focused agenda to build strategies from present to future state.

  • Track record of delivering demonstrated value through strategic initiatives to support the enterprise, with demonstrated expertise in executing and integrating such initiatives.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills at all organizational levels, including the ability to skillfully convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • The polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences

  • Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs and win their co-ownership in the outcome

  • Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company (i.e., Fortune 250), with proven ability to influence leaders and key stakeholders, and to develop a 'followership', in such an environment

  • MBA or other advanced degree is a strong plus
