Reporting directly to the Global Functional Leader, the Functional Engineering Leader will work within a dynamic cross functional team of engineers, project managers, and suppliers to meet and exceed platform goals. Areas of responsibility include; Feeding, Threshing, Cleaning, Grain Handling, Residue Management and Harvest Drive SystemsResponsibilities Include:Develop product development/project plan and ensuring understanding amongst project engineers responsible for its completion. Leads, supervises and reviews the work of project and design engineers to ensure the efficient and timely completion of specific project milestones within required budgetary guidelinesEnsures documentation of technical specifications of the vehicle systems including feature requirements, design specifications, engineering bills of material, CAD structure, engineering drawings and vehicle-level specifications.Leads teams in the creation and maintenance and application of design guidelines.Manage employee performance and facilitate employee growth and development through team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunitiesPrepares and delivers management-level presentations including technical status reviewsInvestigate, propose, and manage New Product Development and Current Product. Drive quality into all designs and ensure Design for Assembly and Design for ManufacturingCollaborates with functional leaders from across the business to establish project deliverables and timelines and strive to develop engineering best practices globallyCreates budgets, forecasts and capital equipment requirements with economic justifications linked to design and development activitiesOther Duties as assignedRequired QualificationsThe qualified candidate will have experience with the following:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural Engineering or similar technical discipline. Master's degree is highly preferred5+ years' of experience working in an engineering capacity supporting product development, manufacturing, quality, or purchasing3 years' experience in people management or leading engineering teams.3 years' experience in project management and cross-functional team collaborationThe preferred candidate will have experience with the following:Ability to work with a cross functional team and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, outside suppliers, and managementAbility to work independently and with limited supervision.Strong analysis skills with a focus on attention to detailFamiliarity with engineering modeling, drawing, and release processesProficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project)Ability to make decisions using appropriate problem solving and decision analysis techniquesEqual opportunity employer.
