Material Coordinator- Davenport, IA

Kelly Services is currently recruiting for a full-time Material Coordinator position for our client, John Deere, one of the world’s leading equipment and manufacturing companies, at their location in Davenport, IA.

Pay rate: $17.43/hour


1st Shift: Monday-Friday 6am- 2:30pm (must be available for 3rd shift support if needed Monday-Friday 7pm- 4:30am)

40-50 hours per week, including some weekends/OT, All positions are subject to changing schedules (flex as needed).

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee production material availability, ensuring that direct material is scheduled and available on time to the work center

  • Perform root cause analysis and problem resolution related to the inventory cycle count process and resolves production inventory issues

  • Work primarily in SAP MRP system and will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and controlling inventory

  • Identify problems and makes suggestions involving production schedules

  • May supervise or provide work direction to hourly material handlers, stock chasers or truckers

  • Find and corrects root cause of material shortages

  • Resolve inventory errors and expedite parts to ensure uninterrupted production


  • Ability to work off-shift hours and overtime as needed

  • Must wear metatarsal boots

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Candidates in pursuit of a degree and candidates with an Associates Degree and military experience will also be considered

  • Motivation for improvement and urgency to support

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Ability to engage with others in a positive way

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (spreadsheet analysis, functions, charting)

  • Ability to collect data form various sources and problems solve

  • Good understanding of manufacturing demands, supply and logistics flow with a customer service mindset

Term of Assignment:

  • December 14th, 2020 to October 31st, 2021 with a possibility of an extension depending on performance and needs of the client
