Description

Robert Half is hiring for multiple positions as a Purchasing Specialist, Buyer or Supply Chain Specialist! Based on market trends, there has been high demand in the procurement and supply chain industry. We are looking for candidates who reside in or near the Quad Cities, Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, and Waterloo areas.

As a Purchasing/Buyer/Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services essential to our operations. Your primary objective will be to optimize purchasing strategies, maintain vendor relationships, and ensure timely delivery of materials while adhering to budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and products.

Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and requirements.

Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance and receipt of goods.

Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

Evaluate supplier performance and conduct periodic vendor assessments.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the supply chain.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to optimize inventory management and distribution.

Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.

Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in using procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba).

Familiarity with inventory management principles and techniques.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Supply Chain Professional) are a plus.
