Provide clerical and secretarial support for the Pharmacy Department including maintenance of files, copying, organization of materials, general word processing and typing.
Use Microsoft Office proficiently to create and manipulate databases and spreadsheets.
Compose routine correspondence using computer and typewriter.
Maintain files and records for subscriptions in the Drug Information Center.
Update drug information references as appropriate.
File and organize journals in the Drug Information Center weekly.
Circulate new drug information throughout the pharmacy department and DIC bulletin boards.
Take meeting minutes for various inter- and intra- departmental hospital committees. Generate and record data for these committees.
Type and format pharmacy department newsletter to physicians.
Maintain department payroll records.
Pick up, route, sort and prioritize incoming department mail.
Order and maintain office supplies for the department.
Greet employees, visitors, and sales persons as they enter the department.
Create informal monthly department newsletter and arrange department social activities as needed.
Organize materials for department, pharmacist and technician meetings.
Serve on Pharmacy Quality Management Committee
Maintain statistics for PQMC including unit inspection records and cart fill error reports.
Act as office information coordinator for staff (solve problems and find answers to staff questions pertaining to office management; e.g., payroll, supplies, calendar, etc.)
High school diploma or GED
Three years secretarial experience
Excellent English usage, proofreading and editing skills; basic math skills
PC experience (Microsoft Office preferred) and medical terminology course desirable
