The Office of Admission seeks a dynamic individual to join their team! We are hiring for an Assistant Director of Regional Recruitment to build a larger, more diverse and more engaged prospect pool in Drake University’s key markets by expanding outreach, recruitment, and presence in Chicago, IL and neighboring suburbs. Working remotely in the Chicagoland area, this individual will be assigned a recruitment territory and lead a recruitment strategy in the region that will contribute to the overall enrollment objectives of the university. The Assistant Director of Regional Recruitment will represent Drake University to a variety of constituents including prospective students and parents, school counselors, other organizations, as well as actively participate in their regional admission organization. This individual will work with students through the entire recruitment process, from inquiry to matriculation. Strong candidates will have outstanding communication skills, attention to detail, a drive to meet established goals, and positive attitude. This position is one part of a comprehensive regional and national recruitment team, including some campus based counselors who will also recruit in the Chicagoland area; the campus in Des Moines will provide logistical and administrative support. A current driver's license and the ability to be covered by the University's insurance carrier is required.
The main objective for this position is to build a larger, more diverse and more engaged prospect pool in Drake University's key markets by expanding outreach, recruitment, and presence in Chicago. This position is one part of a comprehensive regional and national recruitment team; the campus in Des Moines will provide logistical and administrative support.
The regional representative will serve as an official representative of Drake University at college nights, high school visits, admitted student receptions, admission interviews and other events in the region. This individual is responsible for establishing strong relationships with students, counselors, community-based organizations and parents, in order to increase the quantity and quality of applications and deposits from students within the region. This professional will be responsible for maintaining personal contact with students via appointments, phone, email, social media, on and off campus events, presentations and other strategies.
This individual will develop a strategic recruitment and marketing plan for the region using geo-demographic data and regular reports to inform strategy, drive applications and enrollment within the region in a cost-effective manner.
The regional representative will review prospective student credentials and make recommendations for admission consistent with University policies and priorities.
Actively participate in the activities of area high school guidance counselor organizations and in regional admissions organizations (ACACs). This individual will be strongly encouraged to take leadership roles or to present at meetings of these organizations. Regional Recruitment Directors are also expected to be active in Regional Representative Associations (IACAC).
The representative will be expected to attend trainings and events on the Drake University campus throughout the year and participate in regular meetings remotely.
This individual will assist with projects that can be completed off site. Projects assigned will depend on office need and interest and skill set of individual.
A Bachelor's degree is required.
1-3 years related admission experience is required.
Must have a driver's license and the ability to be covered by the University's insurance carrier is required.
Must be comfortable periodically spending extended time standing and must be able to travel to and from locations, such as high schools, to recruit students.
Position does require some evening and weekend work, travel and access to a vehicle.
Occasionally lift more than 25 pounds.
