job summary:

Local utility offering excellent benefits, pension, work/life balance and paid overtime is seeking a controls system engineer to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working with industrial automation systems including PLC programming, troubleshooting and systems design. Degree or certificate preferred, but will consider the experience in place of degree. Some paid on-call required. This is a fully onsite position.

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and design industrial automation control equipment

  • Utilize technical software for design, coding and testing HMIs and PLCs in a SCADA system

  • Design and maintain control systems to NEC, OSHA and UL 508A standards

  • Utilizes AutoCAD and Visio software for control system design

  • Writes code and configures HMIs

  • Develops PLC code for industrial control applications utilizing RSLogix

  • Creates networks to include Ethernet, ControlNet, MOD Bus

  • Installs, calibrates and repairs online analytical equipment

Requirements:

  • Must be open to occasional scheduled on-call (paid) about once every 5 weeks

  • Certificate or degree from a 2 year accredited program for automation or electronics preferred, will consider experience instead

  • At least 3 years of PLC programming and troubleshooting experience and familiarity with HMI and motor controls

  • Driver's license and clean driving record required for company vehicle

  • Electrical Journeyman certificate preferred
