Responsibilities

Our Retirement and Income Solutions Business Intelligence (RIS BI) team has an exciting opportunity for an application developer with experience in data warehouse development. This opportunity will allow you to be instrumental in leading, designing, mentoring, and implementing our next generation of reporting and data analytic business solutions! We are looking for a strategic thinking “data guru” that’s ready for a great career move! We are seeking an individual that is ready for a challenge and excited to help move our team forward with sophisticated data solutions.

Working in an Agile/Scrum environment you’ll have the opportunity to define, design, code and test in a collaborative, fast paced environment. We have 4 BI scrum teams working in various data subject areas. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with these teams in addition to providing support and vision for our 401K plan participant high-level initiatives.

Qualifications

  1. For Entry level candidates, we are looking for someone with a computer-related degree and one of the following:
  • strong classroom experience articulating your Data Management experience

  • or, an internship with heavy experience working in the Data Management space

  1. For Experienced candidates, we are looking for either:
  • someone with 1+ years of professional Data Management experience (in this case, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field would suffice)

  • strongest candidates would have a computer-related degree and 2+ years of professional experience with Data Management/Data Mapping, as well as exposure to many of the “preferred” skills listed below

  1. We would also consider a candidate who went through an intensive Code Academy or Code School program. But, you would have to also have the following:
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree

  • strong academic/personal experience articulating your Data Management experience/expertise

Nice to have skills (but not required):

  • Data Mapping tooling (we use Informatica)

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Experience with Job Scheduling tooling (e.g. Tivoli, CA7, etc.)

  • Experience or exposure to data virtualization

  • Experience with big data or unstructured data (especially Hadoop)

  • Experience with Business Intelligence tooling (e.g. Business Objects, SAS, WebFOCUS, etc.)

Keys to success in this position:

  • Design skills as well as the ability to coach and mentor others

  • Ability to break down data warehouse initiatives into incremental work

  • Strong data analytics skills – from both a research and testing angle

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

  • Enjoy working in a team environment

  • Takes initiative, self-motivated, driven to succeed
