Responsible for all activities related to fund transfers from the Foundation to appropriate mission affiliates including, but not limited to, monthly and FYE reconciliation of fund transfers to internal financial statements, providing service line reports of funds expended to major gift officers, and documenting fund usage for proper stewardship
Provide support to grant staff regarding federal and state grant compliance requirements surrounding budgeting, expense tracking and invoicing
Review and track available annual spendable interest from endowments and work with major gift officers to ensure funds are disbursed; serve as liaison to Mercy College to secure financial scholarship report information awarded to students each semester
Review and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions and activities
Work with Foundation leadership regarding organizational budget process and monitoring of expenses
Review and approve quarterly pledge redemption and uncollected pledges (write offs)
Maintain appropriate segregation of duties and other internal controls
Maintain and reconcile petty cash
Assist in preparation of annual 990 filing and prepare annual 1099’s for annuitants
Provide Business Operations Manager with necessary financial information for the processing of local, state, and federal agency registrations
Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance
Two years of accounting experience in nonprofit finance administration or office setting
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles (GAAP), proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets, and experience with accounting software, experience with nonprofit grant and contract administration, strong ability to anticipate and address problems, ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines, ability to work collaboratively
