Kemin Industries Industrial Maintenance Technician in Des Moines, Iowa
Kemin is seeking a talented and dedicated Industrial Maintenance Technician that will support production through routine maintenance and repair of mixer, blender and packaging equipment, including troubleshooting and quickly correcting problems. This position will also be responsible for process improvement and installation of new processes. Industrial electrical, motor controls, fluid pumps, piping, plumbing, ability to read blueprints and schematics and mechanical experience is required. Food or chemical manufacturing experience preferred. This is a first shift opening.

What you’ll be doing:
Troubleshoot and repair of industrial electrical and mechanical systems.
After hours availability and rotating on-call schedule required.
Handle routine preventative maintenance of all plant equipment.
Help operations with production process improvements when necessary.
Help perform sanitation regiments.
Work within GMP and Food Safety requirements
Participate in safety improvements and actively participate on safety teams.
What we require of you:
High school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Detail-oriented and motivated self-starter able to work independently or on a team.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve.
Knowledge of PLC systems, VFD's, boilers and compressors a plus.
Ability to stand for long periods and to climb stairs, move 56 pounds, work at elevated heights.
Previous forklift and scissor lift experience.
Ideal candidate will have a good attendance record, ability to work with minimum supervision, a high level of accountability for their work and proficiency troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical systems.
Good communication and interpersonal skills a must.
