The Learning, Development & Training Manager will inspire, develop and lead the Learning and Development team for Group Benefits. This role is responsible for setting and driving training initiatives that will have a strong impact to our business. In this position you will conduct an analysis of existing curriculum and make recommendations and implement training solutions that improve the quality of our training and our customer experience, while engaging, developing, and empowering our employees.

Here are few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive training plan, including curriculum for staff, to increase their knowledge and ability to deliver the desired customer experience and business results.

  • Collaborate and consult with the leadership team to propose learning strategies and programs to ready our employees for future and improve succession planning.

  • Lead and develop learning and development specialists who conduct and design training. Coach and provide feedback. Conduct annual performance reviews and compensation administration.

  • Strategize, recommend and implement training resources, trends, and materials related to adult learning, and current industry trends.

  • Collaborate with other Learning and Development leaders to leverage best practices, create consistency, and efficiency.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training, and the overall training model. Provide recommendations for improvement.

Skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent of 8 years’ experience.

  • 6+ years of related training, facilitation, or instructional design experience required.

  • Formal or informal leadership experience is required.

Additional desired skills and experience:

  • Adult learning principles and methodology.

  • Instructional design.

  • Insurance knowledge and/or experience preferred.

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • Excellent analytical, leadership, problem-solving, decision making, negotiation, planning, facilitation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to influence at all levels of leadership.

  • Demonstrate effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Must be results driven and detail oriented with the ability to manage and lead change in a dynamic environment.

  • Limited travel is required.
