Description:

Shift Hours: M-F Day hours, no weekends, holidays or call

Assesses plans and implements nursing care for imaging patients of diverse ages while ensuring patient comfort. Practices safe patient handling techniques and is proficient with aseptic techniques.

Administers nursing care to both acute and ambulatory patients including assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating of care plans and orders in coordination with providers and technologists.

Provides ongoing treatment during exams and procedures. Interacts with patients, both pre and post invasive procedures for history; anticipates, identifies, and responds to educational and emotional needs of patients and families.

Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of health problems. Initiates emergency support measures (i.e. CPR, protecting patients from injury).

Administers medications, moderates sedation, I.V.s etc as ordered during exams and procedures. Gives appropriate hand off reports to other departments to ensure and maintain continuum of care.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa

  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.
