What does a great Project Manager do?

This position will engage you into a growing part of the Fiserv business – new client conversions. You will join the Portico Delivery team as Project Manager who is responsible for converting credit unions to Fiserv Credit Union account processing platform Portico. You will be instrumental in increasing delivery capacity and client satisfaction rates to a consistent ‘A’ grade; You will manage the Conversion Project Plan and assigned resources to ensure successful implementation of Portico and other products; Adhere process, quality and production standards or goals; Contribute to the continuous improvement and optimization of the processes process related to software delivery.

As a Project Manager you will be:

  • Managing Portico Core Conversions and major client initiatives.

  • Adhering to the governance structure for managing business initiatives and operational excellence objectives.

  • Serving as a liaison across the division and directly with clients for resources, escalations, progress reports.

  • Participating with teams across CUS or DIS with common objectives to leverage best practices, tools, cost savings or efficiency to implement ‘best for Fiserv’ processes.

  • Supporting Fiserv’s mission by providing best in class service, support, and implementation of Fiserv integrated technology and service solutions to our internal and external clients.

  • Exceeding business and financial goals and become undisputed market leaders by delivering superior client value and contributing operating effectiveness and efficiency in an environment of highly engaged associates.

In this role you can expect to:

  • Manage efficient and effective Conversion project management plans.

  • Responsible for the continuous assessment, definition, and implementation of process efficiencies to enable maximum utilization of resources and effective execution and controls.

  • Take ownership of and ensures timely resolution of escalations / exceptions.

  • Under general supervision, analyze and determine conversion requirements and provide conversion specification to programming.

  • Provide consultation to the client before, during and after conversion, including the development of new department procedures the conversion may need.

  • Interpret client’s existing systems and workflows, through and including the balancing of conversion data.

  • Maintain the tools used to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the conversion process (system studies, questionnaires).

  • Apply standard project management principles including the creation and maintenance of project plans and managing project tasks and resources as they apply to each implementation.

  • Use sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on precedent, example and experience that is commiserate with that of Business Analyst.

  • Utilize system and data to resolve business issues in the most effective manner.

  • Analyze and identifies root cause; providing input to solutions that lead to success for Fiserv and the client.

  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions in accordance with stated procedure.

  • Assist management with the planning and design of improvements to business processes.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • 3 to 5 years successfully delivering core banking conversions, large complex projects that cross multiple product portfolios and third parties.

  • Experience as a Project Manager leading implementations and conversions.

  • Financial industry experience

  • Experience implementing or supporting SaaS solutions.

Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:

  • PMP preferred, but not required

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge / Experience working with Credit Unions on Core Conversions

  • Knowledge of Portico Core System is a plus • Prior conversion experience or experience supervising operations and/or applications area within the financial industry highly desirable.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and work independently.

Travel required:

  • 30- 50% Travel – Could possibly travel for 1 week at the beginning of each conversion, and 1 week at the end of each conversion for the Credit Union Go Live Event. Generally, equates to about 1 week a month.
