Principal Financial Group Safety & Security Specialist in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

As a Safety & Security Specialist you'll provide day-to-day security for our Home Office employees. You'll be responsible for detailed patrol of the corporate campus to ensure a safe and secure operating environment. As well as monitoring the building entrance, alarm response, and reception duties.

Here are few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:

  • Respond to and conduct formal interviews to obtain complete and accurate information with regard to incidents.

  • Maintain appropriate security and safety records and prepare reports as required.

  • Respond to all requests for assistance, including provide escort service as needed, assess emergency situations, resolve or assist in the resolution of situations in a prompt and efficient manner.

  • Serve as an emergency response team member responding to emergency situations in the corporate campus as needed.

Who You Are

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2+years of work-related experience.

  • Education and/or experience in emergency communications/security field is highly preferred.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality essential.

  • Must have the ability to prioritize efficiently with little supervision, think and act quickly and calmly in emergency situations and exercise good judgment.

  • Excellent customer service and oral and written communication skills with a high degree of accuracy while being detail oriented.

  • Excellent computer skills a must. Must have good planning/organizational and time management skills.

  • Knowledge of or ability to attain knowledge of various emergency and security related equipment/systems.

  • Ability to rotate between walking, standing and sitting for extended periods of time.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$16.90 - $19.64 / hour

Time Off Program

Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

Hours/Location

This is not a remote position and would be reporting to the corporate office in downtown Des Moines, IA. Hours would be an 8-hour shift between 6:15am - 3:00pm Monday-Friday.
