Brief Job Description:

We are looking for part-time seasonal employees that are able to assist with our increased volume at our specialty warehouse. This will be a temporary job and will require weekend availability. The position will be responsible for the selection and stacking of merchandise on pallets to be shipped to retail locations. Prepares orders including accurately selecting ordered items via a voice automated selection system and palletizes items for shipment.

Reporting Relations:

Accountable and Reports to: Vice President of Warehousing, Warehouse Supervisor(s), Assistant Supervisor(s).

Direct Reports: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.

  • Responsible for accurately and timely selecting orders via a voice automated selection system and safely palletizing merchandise for shipment to assigned stores, ensuring product does not become damage.

  • Verifies pallet is stable and shrink wraps pallet.

  • Accurately applies pallet ID and stages selected order to be loaded in assigned area for delivery.

  • Ensures that security measures and practices are implemented and complies with all Lomar security procedures when monitoring non-Lomar employed truck drivers and/or visitors.

  • Performs daily safety inspection of power equipment. Ensures required safety equipment is being utilized and polices are followed with equipment being operated in a safe manner.

  • Keeps work environment clean and neat by sweeping and picking up cardboard, plastic wrap, and totes.

  • Attends departmental and company meetings.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Breaks down master cases and stages product.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual requirements include color vision, field of vision and depth perception, vision from 20 inches or less to 20 feet or more without correction.

  • Must be physically able to perform heavy work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently and 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: standing, walking, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

  • Must have the ability to meet language and hearing capabilities for voice automated selection.

  • Must have the ability to follow one or two-step instructions; routine, repetitive tasks.

  • Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Upon certification, must safely operate both single and double pallet jacks, forklift, and stock picker.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects with good attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

The duties of this position are performed in a warehouse setting with heights reaching 30 feet in the air. There will be exposure to noise, dust, dirt and equipment including batteries. There is significant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day. Dry warehouse temperatures will vary based on outdoor climate (generally between 60 and 80 degrees).

Equipment Used to Perform Job:

Primary equipment– stock picker, single pallet jack, Vocollect.

Secondary equipment –forklift, double pallet jack. May also use cleaning materials such as a broom and shovel.

Has daily contact with warehouse personal and suppliers/vendors. Deals with other companies and the general public.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent.
