ICF is seeking qualified candidates for junior, mid-level, and senior positions to help clients implement and evolve their energy and climate programs. These positions will be based in ICF’s Albany, NY office. Successful candidates will support the implementation of high-profile public-private partnership programs to drive improved energy use and carbon reduction in the commercial, residential, institutional, industrial, and transportation markets. They will be part of a team that builds and maintains relationships with key market actors, reviews and analyzes new and innovative technologies and programs, and collaborates with other team members and clients to develop strategies to increase participation in energy and carbon reduction programs.

What you will be doing . . .

  • Supporting research and analysis of innovative technologies, systems, and strategies with respect to energy use in buildings, renewable energy, transportation, and electric grid initiatives.

  • Providing support to clients to increase awareness of innovative technologies, systems and strategies that could help reduce energy use and carbon emissions.

  • Conducting outreach to industry stakeholders, including manufacturers and end users, to help analyze the technical and market potential of new technologies.

  • Contributing to the development and deployment of communications, outreach, and training resources, which may include case studies, webinars, in-person events, and other opportunities.

  • Providing management support (commensurate with years of experience and level) to oversee specific energy and carbon reduction projects.

What you need to have . . .

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related discipline (e.g., environmental studies, public policy, energy and sustainability)

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and self-motivation.

  • Solid personal computer skills (Microsoft applications).

  • Ability to prioritize complex tasks and work under strict deadlines.

  • Senior positions require additional leadership and management experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience…

  • Experience working in the commercial or industrial building sector, or for an energy efficiency vendor/service provider serving the building sector.

  • Demonstrated expertise energy and carbon reduction technologies, programs and strategies.

  • Experience with national and/or regional energy and carbon reduction programs.

  • Familiarity with the development/delivery of public-private voluntary partnership programs.

  • Experience writing reports, articles, case studies, or other communications materials.

  • Experience managing project teams.
