Technology continues to move at an accelerated pace and financial institutions are struggling to balance this rate of change along with alterations in their business operations, mounting competition, and the pressure to remain secure and compliant. We're looking for an experienced Senior Technology Consultant who can help clients adapt to the challenges and opportunities presented by the current technology trends, security, and regulation. From designing and implementing strategy, to assessing infrastructure and applications, to identifying and negotiating third party vendor relations, we need someone who can advise clients through the process, architect a plan, assess risks, and inspire value-driven strategic decision-making.Duties and ResponsibilitiesServes as an outsourced technology advisor OTA, providing hands-on strategic advice, assessment, and support in alignment with technology goals and objectives.Serves as an outsourced security advisor or OSA, providing direction, advice, and assistance in the organization's information and cyber security programs, as well as with vendor management and business contingency efforts.Performs strategic technology assessments and/or plans customized to fit the institutions overall business objectives, size, and complexity.Performs core and ancillary systems selections, contract assessments, and advisory services.Conducts technology/operations and organizational assessments to ensure continued alignment with strategic initiatives, process improvement considerations, and future growth.Performs efficiencies studies to improve technology utilization, streamline workflow processes, and reduce overall operating expenses.Serves as a project advisor for client's key technology or operational implementations including core system conversions.Assist clients with maximizing their delivery channel value to create a more robust, integrated customer experience.Leads merger and acquisition integration activities in blending infrastructure, systems, people, product lines and processes.Provides assistance in overall business continuity plan development, training, and testing.Assists in the development and execution of the vendor management program.Provides direction and support in the development and review of security policies, procedures, risks, and documentation.Serves as an oversight member to Technology Steering Committees to provide strategic business advice, offer feedback and suggestions based on industry standards and best practices, and to assist in ongoing planning.QualificationsExperience:A minimum of eight years' experience working in the financial services industry, with senior level experience and hands-on knowledge in technology and/or operations.Or a combination of at least two years consulting experience, with at least five years of experience working in the financial services industry, with senior level experience and hands-on knowledge in technology and/or operations.IT Management and/or prior CIO experience is a preferred.Schooling:Four-year college degreeOr some college combined with deep financial institution experienceOr deep financial institution experience and completion of Graduate School of BankingFunctional Knowledge:A deep operating knowledge in at least one of the following: CIO/COO or Senior Management of Technology/Operations.Experience in performing Systems Selection/Contract Negotiation, Operational Efficiency, Technology Assessments and Strategic Planning.Proven ability to effectively oversee technology implementations and process improvement projects, preferably with some systems conversion experiencePersonnel Skills:Creative and independent thinkerExcellent written and oral presentation skillsAbility to work without extensive supervision or directionAbility to balance multiple projects under tight deadlinesStrong communicator who is comfortable working with C-level managementStrong in time management and personal disciplineTravel:Must be able to travel both day
