ICF Consulting Group, Inc. Senior Training and Technical Assistance Specialist - Juvenile Justice (remote) in Des Moines, Iowa
ICF is looking for an experienced Senior Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Specialist to support the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention’s National Training and Technical Assistance Center (OJJDP’s NTTAC). OJJDP’s NTTAC is a central source for TTA resources and serves as a one-stop shop for accessing the full array of TTA services OJJDP offers.
As the Senior TTA Specialist, you will primarily oversee, coordinate, and provide TTA around combatting youth hate crimes and hate groups for OJJDP’s NTTAC. You will work closely with OJJDP, relevant stakeholders, and partners to fulfill the vision for this task and associated deliverables. This role is fully remote. Travel to client sites or ICF offices may be required once business travel resumes (up to 10%).
Serve as the primary subject matter expert and Task Lead for the combatting youth hate crimes and hate groups task.
Collaborate with colleagues and SMEs to develop a work plan and timeline for all associated deliverables, ensuring that all deliverables and tasks are completed on time and are of high quality.
Coordinate and develop youth roundtable discussions that are relevant and trauma informed.
Write a special report and associated fact sheet on preventing youth hate-based incidents.
Develop a train-the-trainer curriculum based on trends in the field and the latest research on preventing youth hate crimes and hate groups.
Coordinate a virtual conference on combatting youth hate crimes and a webinar series on various topics as directed.
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and balance multiple perspectives and needs.
Provide visionary, strategic, and practical leadership to this task—in addition to being able to work independently and/or lead a team.
Develop and coordinate presentation materials and objectives, fact sheets, written reports, and other written deliverables as needed.
Other duties as assigned by project leadership.
Master’s degree in criminal justice, juvenile justice, social science research, or a related area from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of experience and knowledge of juvenile justice or related programming experience. (Substitution: Ph.D. with one year experience; or bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience.)
Minimum of 1 year of experience with curriculum development.
Experience developing, coordinating, or providing TTA at the national level.
Basic knowledge of the OMB clearance and the IRB approval processes.
General knowledge of virtual platforms and software such as Microsoft Teams and Webex.
Experience working with an agency, office, or bureau within the U.S. Department of Justice.
Experience identifying and vetting relevant SMEs.
Understanding of adult learning theory and/or Bloom’s taxonomy.
Knowledge of and experience with developing, coordinating, and delivering TTA at the national level.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Ability to be flexible, multitask, prioritize, manage multiple activities simultaneously, and maintain high-quality results in a fast-paced, changing environment.
High level of attention to detail and flexibility to adjust to last-minute requests and changing priorities.
A high degree of adaptability, comfort in establishing new directions, and the ability to manage and adapt to change.
Excellent verbal, oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills, including experience with developing presentations.
Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work well independently and lead a team.
Exceptional project management skills.
Exceptional writing and research skills, and the ability to convey thoughts and ideas clearly and succinctly.
