Aerotek Shipping & Receiving Associate in Des Moines, Iowa


As Warehouse personnel, you will receive and verify incoming parts, maintain stock areas, package and prepare materials for shipment, load outgoing shipments onto trucks and perform some light assembly work.

Daily Duties:

Assist with general shipping/receiving and light assembly duties.

Assembly work - will perform general hand tool assembly work for 4 different customers. Will use wrenches and basic drawings to assemble plantation gear boxes, valves, and other hydraulic components.

Shipping work - will lift products by hand (up to 100lbs) and operate a sit down forklift to load and unload products.

Will also assist with paperwork and documenting orders in the computer system. Will use P21 or EPICOR for shipping invoicing.

Will receive goods into the computer system and ensure proper distribution of the product while maintaining accurate inventory levels. Work from shipping papers, bill of lading, packing slips, work orders and written and verbal instructions.

Understand, process and maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counting as requested.

Store items in bins, shelves or other specified locations; record as prescribed; maintain stock, notify appropriate personal of all discrepancies.

Maintain all work areas in a neat and orderly condition. Detect and report all faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations and unusual conditions to a supervisor. Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations.

Load, unload and secure loads when transporting materials on an open bed truck and/or trailer.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED.

Ability to lift up to 100lbs

Basic computer skills - 1+ years

Sit down forklift experience - 1+ years

Mechanically inclined - will be doing some light assembly


Shipping computer software experience (P21 or EPICOR)

Management experience
