What's the role? Responsible for managing the tracking and monitoring of IT hardware and software assets throughout the product lifecycle to ensure accuracy and compliance of all Wellmark IT assets. In collaboration and partnership with business and Technology stakeholders, consult and navigate the process of acquiring and maintaining IT hardware and software licenses; including capturing licensing deployment requirements within the SAM repository. Identify, research, and assist with resolving compliance related licensing issues to ensure alignment with applicable contracts.
What does it take to make the cut? A bachelor’s degree in a computer science field or 4 years of direct and applicable work experience as well as at least 4 years of asset management experience. You will also be required to have worked with procurement, business stakeholders, and operational IT staff. You should have multiple examples of how you have improved business outcomes through successful ITAM best practices and industry standards. Your resume will rise to the top if you have prior experience in a cloud-based environment and if you have obtained your CSAM and ITIL certifications.

Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field or direct and applicable work experience
4+ years of asset management experience in a technology environment
Prior experience working with procurement, business stakeholders and frontline operational IT staff
Prior ITAM roles (hardware or software) or demonstrable experience of working with IT asset management professionals to deliver ITAM capability and improved business outcomes
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships of collaboration and trust
Analyzes and recommends IT asset life-cycle management including procurement, deployment, monitoring, auditing, validation, tracking, expense and use reporting, and disposal.
Attention to detail with the ability to identify issues or inconsistencies; obtains relevant information, relates and compares data from different sources and identifies alternative solutions
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capability to make decisions and adapt to change
Experience with statistical analysis, reporting and data manipulation
Advanced knowledge of Excel with experience in querying various data sources via SQL

a. Collaborate with software owners to understand use case scenarios of software and ensure existing agreements support said scenarios. Gain agreement on authoritative source for the software usage and ensure that source interacts with existing software asset management infrastructure.b. Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, licensing, governance, and contractual requirements by assisting in the establishment of and monitoring of effective processes and procedures. Assist with the development of and implementation of metrics for software license management. Monitor software licenses for compliance. Ensure software installation data is available and report on software usage.c. Partner with Procurement to capture licensing rights and restrictions from relevant agreements for each software title. Partner with Technology to monitor and ensure deployment of software will be consistent with license agreements.d. Partner with Procurement to ensure that licenses being negotiated and entered into by Wellmark align with Wellmarks computer environments and standards. Provide guidance and recommendations as part of the negotiation process to ensure software can be deployed and monitored effectively to maintain compliance.e. Facilitate and handle license review for assigned classes of software e.g., Clickwrap agreements to ensure Wellmarks contracting standards and licensing standards are met, and escalate potential issues, as applicable.f. Partner with Technology and Procurement to ensure the Free and Open Source Software FOSS standards are followed and adhered to. Perform periodic audits of the FOSS repository to ensure compliance with the standards.g. Effectively communicate via written or verbal methods to all levels of management, including SLT members, any concerns pertaining to licensing issues.h. Participate in change management reviews to proactively provide guidance on licensing impact of pending infrastructure or system changes.i. Ensure all new software agreements are reviewed for licensing compatibility with our technical architecture and accurately reflected in the SAM system.j. Design, build, and review compliance reports utilizing data from multiple sources.k. Ensure all potential discrepancies are researched and appropriately addressed and resolved by working with the appropriate technology and business contacts.l. Other duties as assigned.
