Position Overview

The WW Senior Vice President of Marketing for Kemin Industries has overview of Kemin’s worldwide marketing activities with a particular emphasis on strategic marketing applications. In this sense strategic marketing is defined in its broadest terms. Examination and recommendations on Kemin business models, market strategies and core product positioning are expected. In addition, the holder of this position will act to monitor all WW marketing, with a dotted line to each business unit marketing director.

The position is solely responsible for the promise of the Kemin brand and maintaining Kemin branding standards among our family of business units. In conjunction with other senior Kemin leaders and business unit leaders this person will help create, guide and shape marketing strategy for the entire company. The position has dotted line authority over the global marketing directors of each business unit while having direct oversight over a team of 15 marketing professional’s.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintenance and shaping of the Kemin brand on a global basis

  • Creation of global marketing strategy and vision for the Company

  • Leadership of Kemin’s digital Marketing efforts. Particular emphasis on the discovery of new digital strategies and communication of these to the Kemin business units. An active leader in the company’s digital transformation strategy

  • Acting on the trends of the market and direct the market research efforts of the Company

  • Providing leadership and mentorship to the marketing directors in Kemin’s 14 business units.

  • Leadership of Global Product managers for the Agri and human foods division of Kemin Industries

  • Leadership of Kemin’s public relations group

  • Oversight of the Kemin Web site and its governance.

  • Leadership of Kemin’s competitive intelligence team

  • Leadership of Kemin’s philanthropic strategy in the United States

  • Leadership of Kemin’s sustainability efforts worldwide

  • Global event planning for major Kemin internal and external events

  • Oversight of Kemin’s worldwide Knowledge Center

  • Major contributions to Kemin’s M&A efforts, including prospecting, due diligence and integration

What we require of you:

  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated marketing excellence in a B2B environment where they have shown achievement in both strategic marketing, digital transformation and marketing communications

  • The ideal candidate can balance a practical mindset with a creative business acumen and lead people through complex marketing operations and visioning

  • Demonstrated abilities to do primary research and reduce large data sets to important strategic actions is required

  • The ability to create and execute strategic marketing collateral that communicates Kemin’s value statement in the market will be a necessary part of the position. This is done via Kemin’s annual report.

  • The successful candidate will have an assertive personality, with a “take the hill” approach to business problem.

  • The successful candidate will have superior presentation skills suitable for customer and Board presentations.

  • As a global position, experience in international business is a requirement

  • Fluent English required while a second and third language are highly desirable

  • All of Kemin’s products are positioned from a foundation of their technical attributes. The ability to create communications that explain and value the features and benefits of these technical products is required. As such, a university coursework in chemistry or biochemistry or in one of the fields Kemin serves is recommended but not required.

  • Understanding financial terms as balance sheet analysis and return on investment to the customer are important qualifications

  • Negotiation skills are part of the marketing position

Travel:This is a global appointment, requiring international travel to all Kemin business units and, potentially, customer locations. It is estimated that the successful candidate will be traveling internationally 30% of their time.
