Regional Environmental Manager

At Pilgrim’s, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always.

We have implemented safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are working to ensure social distancing within our facility. We have installed physical barriers throughout our facility such as plexi-glass or plastic barriers between team member work stations. Each day, temperature screens are performed for each employee and visitor before entering the facility. Face coverings are provided and required over the mouth and nose at all times when inside the facility, and enhanced cleaning and sanitation is regularly performed.

Manage large and complex environmental systems. Knowledge about physical/chemical separation of wastewater and the treatment of high strength nitrogen rich waste water beneficial. Has strong knowledge of the regulatory and legal environment of air, storm water, wastewater,


  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert in all environmental issues affecting Pilgrims operations.

  • Develop and assist in the implementation of environmental management systems and action plans that ensure corporate environmental regulatory compliance and drive environmental excellence.

  • Working collaboratively with engineering identify consultants, contractors and equipment vendors to assist in environmental project improvements and capital budgeting forecasting.

  • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert assist the Complex Environmental Management Team in all aspects of waste water treatment, storm water treatment and control, potable water systems, hazardous waste management, regulatory reporting, air permitting, environmental sustainability and continuous process improvement

  • Leads the implementation of environmental policies and practices as established by the department.

  • Assures compliance with environmental rules and regulation.

  • Performs quarterly environmental auditing of assigned respective complexes. Identifies areas for improvement and works to drive improvement in the system through teamwork and the implementation of corrective measures.

  • Performs impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organization’s environmental risks and financial costs to drive the system to environmental excellence.

  • Promoting and raising awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative or best management practices, on corporate, ethical and social responsibility.

  • Ability to coordinate and participate in public comment forums and be willing to address issues with regulatory bodies.

  • Serves in a leadership role in developing environmental staff to expand their knowledge through training and competency testing processes.

  • Participating in environmental education and research

  • Assist in negotiating environmental service agreements and managing associated costs and revenues

  • Writing concise technical reports.

  • Assist as a team player in developing sound sustainability goals and action plans for Pilgrims.


Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Agriculture Engineering, Environmental Services, Biology, Chemistry or Science related field.


5 or more years in the field of managing large and complex environmental systems preferred. Experience should show progressive responsibility in their tenure at the previous locations. Knowledge about physical/chemical separation of wastewater and the treatment of high strength nitrogen rich waste water beneficial. Must have broad knowledge of MS Office products, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
