RFA Engineering Electro-Mechanical Product Engineer in Dubuque, Iowa

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking several growth oriented entry level to experienced candidates to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Dubuque, Iowa. You will work with our experienced engineering staff and our customer's staff to provide highly engineered, optimized designs of Off-Road equipment using state of the art engineering tools.

Our customer's facility is a world-class engineering and manufacturing center. These are full time positions that are indefinite in duration with opportunity for professional growth, direct hire by our customer, and opportunity within our own organization.

Electro-Mechanical Product Engineer

The job duties for these positions are associated with component and systems design for continuous improvement on various vehicles and include:

  • Design of Electro-mechanical systems and structural machine components

  • Use of 3-D CAD to support Modeling of electro-mechanical components

  • Creation and support of 2D drawings and specification documentation

  • Troubleshooting assembly line issues using root cause analysis

  • Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers.

  • Work in a team environment.

Requirements

  • BSME, BSEE, Physics, or Mechanical Design or related degree with experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience or hobbies

  • Excellent communication both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment

Desired Attributes

  • Experience in 3-D Modeling Software; Creo 2.0/4.0 (Pro/Engineer) experience (Proficient)

  • Exposure to Capital Harness software

  • Previous experience with Windchill or PDMLink

  • Design experience or exposure to off-road mobile equipment

  • Ability to address quality issues, determine root cause and drive to a corrective action

  • Desire to work in an engineering environment focusing on robust designs, assembly line issues, cost reduction, and new product design.
