MSA has an opportunity for an experienced Environmental Project Engineer/Scientist. This individual can be located in any of our following office locations: Baraboo, WI; Madison, WI; Beaver Dam, WI or Dubuque, IA. The work you will do
Assist in coordinating and performing field activities including collecting soil and groundwater samples for environmental analysis
Perform Phase I and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments according to ASTM Standards
Knowledge of performing field activities including soil boring sampling, recording soil boring logs, and experience with direct-push and hollow stem auger drilling methods
Assist with preparing environmental management plans and permits for property redevelopment
Knowledge of State regulatory requirements related to environmental compliance and funding programs
When needed, assist in field activities including compliance monitoring with ground water sampling using bailers and pumps
The ability to perform regulatory agency communications and prepare technical reports for projects
Peform various project management tasks including preparing project cost estimates and proposals
Ability to perform wetland delineations and wetland report preparation a plus
Knowledge and ability to use GIS and GPS applications is preferred
What you bring
Skills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in geology, water resources, engineering degree required
A minimum of 2 to 5 years of previous related work experience is preferred
GIS experience a plus. Familiarity with handheld GIS and GPS tools to support mapping a plus.
Knowledge of State Regulatory Agency guidance governing the investigation and clean-up of sites subject to their jurisdiction
Ability to eventually obtain State professional P.G. or P.E. license is preferred
Previous wetland delineation experience a plus
