ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Oversee Facility staff, including Maintenance supervisor and maintenance team, salaried facility engineer, and other staff as necessary.
• Ensure proper certification for all Maintenance staff.
• Recommend facility improvements and upgrades - bathrooms, lighting, offices, conference rooms, common areas, exterior areas, and others.
• Manage exterior of the facility - snow removal, parking lot maintenance, lawn care, etc.
• Work with City of Dubuque and other governmental agencies on development initiatives.
• Responsible for facility capital project requests, procurement of assets, project management, and departmental budgets.
• Document and maintain facility processes and critical facility infrastructure - fire suppression and monitoring, security alarm system, water, gas, compressed air, etc.
• Manage and Maintain concessions / vending machines and related programs.
• Manage and control HVAC temperatures, modes, programming, etc. throughout the facility.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with outside service providers - snow removal, lawn care, HVAC, general construction and repair contractors, plumbing, janitorial, waste management, and others.
• Develop and maintain supply chain for facility related consumables - paper products, kitchen and concession supplies, etc.
• Respond to and action security system calls.
• Work directly with the Dubuque based operations leadership team to support manufacturing updates and improvements, new equipment installs, and facility moves.
• Ensure a clean, safe work environment for all Dubuque based employees. Work directly with the safety department to install and maintain safety improvements.
• Working with other Dubuque leaders and external IT support, maintain and manage the facility camera system.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building and Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or other closely related field.
• 10+ years of related experience, with at least five years managing a complex facility and both hourly and professional staff.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities at once.
• Current or previous experience in a manufacturing facility is highly preferred.
• Experience with CAD, Building Management software, Microsoft Office is highly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Excellent cross functional communicator, who is skilled at communicating across all levels of the organization, and with external vendors / contractors.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Strong leadership skills will be required for this position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position will oversee the maintenance department, a facility engineer, and other staff responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and strategic direction of the Dubuque facility.
• Direct oversight two - five direct reports, with a total Facility Manager organization of 15 - 20 people. Staff may include both hourly and salaried staff.
• A supervisor level employee will report to this position.
